I listen to audio books while fishing...fishing alone is not an issue.
Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.

Please invest in a good auto inflatable life vest if you fish by yourself. Especially in cold water. Never know when you are going to hit that stump while on the TM and go in. Few are as tough as they think they are when they hit that cold water. Sorry to preach, but we lose a few every year to exactly this scenario.

I fish a LOT by myself. It is peaceful and you LEARN a lot, if you are willing to try new things. I learned the most when I started fishing by myself a lot, prefishing forT's and just fun fishing. Not a bad deal. You DO have to think a little more when you are in the boat by yourself, because you do not wat to fall in by yourself. There is always the tri8m switch if you do, but you may need to be just a little more careful and let someone know when and where you are going and what time you might be back in, at least I do. Hope this helps. Tight lines, kee0 safe and good luck.
Thad Rains What is a tri8m switch ??

I fish alone 80 - 90 % time. I captain for high school and fish team events the rest. I am however open to someone else fishing with me any time.

I love fishing with my bass club. But I also love to just get out on the water and fun fish. Fun fish as opposed to pre fish is I actually land all the fish I get on and can stay and fish a spot out before moving on.

I fish alone alot-its peaceful and you don't have to worry about your partner catching fish. If your catching alot of fish and your parner isn't doing very well you can start to feel guilty. +1 I wondered if anyone else felt this pressure.

Put me in the solo column also. I enjoy the solitude & company. lol. Just have to be more aware of safety items, ie, pfd on @ all times, watching for rogue waves, skiers/wakeboarders, etc. ,
Same for me--especially since I'm getting older (turn 80 this year). I fell in (luckily not out of) my boat last week trying to take a p*** while standing on the bow. Didn't do any damage other than to my ego, but immediately went home and found a solution on Amazon: TravelJohn-Disposable Urinal.

I am in the position where my son is grown and has no interest, and neither does the wife.
Being new to Texas I have no friends here yet, and am going to be fishing alone for the immediate (and maybe longterm) future.
Just wondering how many of you folks regularly fish by yourself? I would say 90% by myself. I occasionally take a low maintenance friend, but I'm the type of person who needs a lot of solitude. If I had to launch and load my boat every time I went fishing, it would be different, but I am fortunate that I am able to keep my boat at a marina about 10 minutes from my home.

Im about 50/50. When I do fish alone I try to experiment with different things to expand my toolbox. Fishing with someone is important to me as well. Shared experiences, fellowship and safety are the true bonuses of fishing with someone.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways with a fishing rod in one hand, 10# LMB in the other, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and yelling "Wow! What a Ride!

I fish alone most of the time. When I do have other people come fish with me I either like to take a) New fisherman and kids(that mind) b) Somebody that knows we are fishing and not catching. I cannot stand taking people that fish 3-4 times a year that think they know it all or get bored and think they can do better.
My dad and I talked about this the other day and we both agreed that the older we get the more we enjoy fishing alone or in special cases taking on someone as a mentee. I just don't have the patience for a lot of the excuses and what not that comes with taking other people.

It depends which launch I'm at. If at IDB by myself no problem. If at Buck Creek always have help.

I fish alone about 60%/40%. Enjoy the solitude but do enjoy fishing with my brother and BIL just to keep the competitive trash talk lively. One thing I do now that I did not do in the past is I wear a PFD at all time when alone in the boat. I am a little older and a little bit clumsy at times. You never know when you might kiss the water by accident.

I am only about 1/4 mile from the Little Elm ramp, so its real convenient to fish alone. I do enjoy company though, and that ramp isn't steep enough for me to launch without getting your feet wet.
