I am in the position where my son is grown and has no interest, and neither does the wife.

Being new to Texas I have no friends here yet, and am going to be fishing alone for the immediate (and maybe longterm) future.

Just wondering how many of you folks regularly fish by yourself?

Fishing alone is peaceful. I go when I want, stay as long or as short as I like and fish wear I like. I put in a little later and leave a little sooner not to be that guy at the ramp..lol

Fish enough and you'll start seeing some of the same faces. Doesn't take much to strike up a conversation at the ramp.

I fish all the time by myself. the only time it would be better to have some one with u is when unloading & loading boat. if it isn't busy at the ramp no big deal.

A lot !!
I got tired of people always asking -- when you going to take me fishing ?? Then when I would get a trip planed they either couldn't go or would back out at the last minute or could not leave till lunch or half way to the lake ( I have to be home by 5) bang
Gotten to the point I would rather fish alone.. Leave when I want, change spots when I want, eat when I want go home when I want. That and my dog likes EVERYTHING I do..

And as long as there is room at the courtesy dock...I can load or unload faster than a lot of two some's..

I fish by myself quite often. I found that when I get on the fish I don't notice that I'm alone. When fishing is slow, I wouldn't mind having someone else there to share the pain.

AHAHAHAHHAH

As stated above...after a while you'll see a few familiar boats and soon be able to strike up conversations on the water or ramp.

Me, myself and I.

Have a partner for some tournaments, but I am single, and go when I want. My promotion and this winter has been a cramp in my style. I usually go out every weekend, but I am having trouble getting up in the morning to be cold...

I used to work a bit of a later shift during the week, now I am there at 7am each day, so shifting a couple hours earlier on the weekends has been tougher than when I was getting in at 9. Go figure who_knows

90% of the time I am by myself, even fish team tournaments alone. It’s odd because I find myself to be outstanding company.

By myself most of the time. As mentioned, it's great not having to work with other people's schedules. I fish some team tournaments as a single and still enjoy it, but there are times I wish I could have 2 different baits or techniques going at one time.

Also ocassionally wish I had someone elses boat to limit the maintenance on mine, but then I would have to put up with someone else choosing the spots and times.

I too, fish by myself about 95% of the time. Can load and unload faster than most and enjoy the solitude.
