Been awhile fellas! Moved back to Abilene and getting to enjoy one of my favorite hobbies again, but this time I am getting to teach it to my 8 year old as well. Who else is bowling leagues and what city? I'm planning to start bowling much more frequently and cut back on the work and fishing. Been back at it since October after 5 years off, currently averaging 215 and going up every week.

Impressive avg., but why cut back on fish'in?

Traveling out of Abilene for bowling tourneys, I will still actually be fishing more than I did this past year because my new job is 8-5 M-F and free weekends compared to 12 hour rotating shifts at the last job

I love bowling. My buddies were fans of The Big Lebowski, so we joined a league in college. I was a 90 something average to start (awful form, no hook etc.) but improved to a steady 210-220 by the end of the season. Tons of fun and would like to do it again at some point.

Use to bowl all the time. At my peak I was probably a 235 avg. 215 is dang good for 5 yrs off man! My Dad was a pro bowler back in the 70’s and 80’s. He would buy an alley and get the leagues going good, then sell it. Owned Amarillo Bowl, Tiffany Lanes in Odessa and Midland Lanes at different times. Basically grew up in a bowling alley. Lived in one in when I was little. My Uncle Scott is in the Texas Bowling Hall of Fame. Dad would have probably made the PBA hall if he would have kept at it. But with the 80’s the money dried up in west Tx and so did the bowling leagues that bring all the money in. It’s making a comeback now though. I like it but I’m hella sore for a week after one night of bowling. Just can’t do it anymore. I do miss it, and being behind the lanes in the back was awesome as a kid.

My average is 250 with the bumpers or 85 without them.

I took my kid bowling this week and in two games I tied one of them with a 94. I've only broken 100 once in my life.

in the 60s we used to "meet chicks" at the highland bowling alley on northwest hiway in okiecity, had some dam good times.

bowled a lot when in europe, bases all had it for free and had beer available, great way to stay out of trouble and have a few.

now I might make it thru 2 frames before the energy gave out, bowling is not an olds game imo.
