I'm looking to buy several new reels soon. I have several newer Lew's now and several old chronarchs as well. I'm looking for some feedback/reviews on Shimano Curado DC and Chronarch MGL. It would be greatly appreciated! Merry Christmas!

Shimano Curado DC is a great reel, I love mine...Can't go wrong with Shimano reels, especially the DC models

I have a chronarch mgl, love it. Have had zero issues with it. Word of advice though, every new reels regardless of brand comes loaded with grease on the bearings. Strip it down, flush the bearings and add one small drop of bearing oil, that alone can turn a good reel into an awesome reel.

I have owned several of the DC reels and they are good. However, the Chronarch MGL’s are much superior IMO. Just picked up a couple of Bantam MGL’s and I like them best of all. Solid construction, little to no slop in the gears and smooth as silk.

I have lately purchased several reels, used but in like new or mint condition w/boxes and paperwork, from an eBay reseller in Japan, for usually half retail price +/-, depending on condition. So I've added an Antares, a pair of Aldebaran 50s, and a Metanium MgL to the arsenal for $200 each. Sweet reels. Also a brand new Scorpion DC for $230, which I prefer to my Curado DCs. The Japanese have lots of great stuff of brands that we know, but never get to see because it ain't sold over here.

The only thing I do not like about my Curado DC's is the whine they make when they cast. Other than that, they are great.

Have to agree on the Bantam MGL’s. Thought it was so smooth and ended up with 2 more. Just hope my wife don’t find the recipes.

I have a chronarch mgl and love it. Just a fantastic reel. Casts, reels smooth. But the best thing is the drag. Drag just feels right when you are fighting fish.

Just received a Shimano Metanium MGL 150 B. Smoothest reel I've ever held!

Both great, people should throw the Bantam into the mix also.
