I went today and found a creek that had fish willing to play. They were holding tight to the bottom. I would pitch out, let the bait get to the bottom and work it back to the boat "bottom bouncing" they would hit it like there was no tomorrow.
I hold my rod still at 1 o'clock and give the reel a full crank. Let the bait settle and repeat until the bait is back to the boat. 1/8oz blue jig head #4 hook with a small blue/yellow jig body.

Nice work. Hopping along the bottom seems to be working very well on my creek as well.

Only managed to catch 2 little ones and a big ol drum lol. Talking to some people there that had fish on their stringer, I apparently fished the wrong side of the creek. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Fishing is slow in most creeks right now and the bite is late to get going meaning they should have already moved weeks ago. In the few creeks, I have fished I have found them tight to the bottom.

Fork: Graphed a bunch in 25-30’ water off main lake point on/relating to the bottom while bass fishing today - confirmed with a small jigging spoon...

With all creek fishing, it takes time to learn the creek you are fishing and where the fish are holding. Out of a whole creek I would only say about 5-10 percent of it is productive and the rest is a waste of time. Every year is different based on water level, weather, fishing pressure, water clarity, etc. After you fish a creek long enough you know that based on certain conditions the fish should be in certain spots. The only way to learn this is time on the water and you will have plenty of skunks. Back in the day, I would be happy catching one fish from the creeks and now I can go out to one of the 10 or so creeks I fish and catch good numbers on the slower days and even limit on the good days. This has all come from time walking the banks over the years and trying to add a new creek each year. I hope this helps.

I'm not looking for a honey hole necessarily but i am asking for advice and if someone can point me in the right direction or towards the right creek I should be trying.
