Exactly...and for young men who are "late bloomers" their experience to practice for 16 weeks prepares them for the off-season and for the next year if an under classmen. There are others on the forum who coach currently or have coached who can attest to the fact that some of these 'kids' grow into men over the course of the season...especially with a playoff run.

I like the system. For Example in 6A Allen has over 5,000 students and SLC barely 2,000. They’re split into D1 and D2 because of the enrollment disparity.

46-44 now. 4 minutes left. Blum in the lead. But this is far from football. Have to do it though to allow kids to play. The running game is close to football but the passing game is backyard football. Fun to watch though!

I started in 6 man football when I was a little boy in Duncanville.....and wide track, I am not grumpy, 12 is ridiculous. 6 would be plenty and it might cut down on the cheating.

What incidents of cheating at the HS level are you referring?

I actually don't think it is cheating, but recruiting and moving around to team shop happens year round in virtually every classification.

Proving the intent is the challenge. If it can be proven there was intent solely for purposes of athletics then is is cheating and the school stands to forfeit contests.

Recruiting in its highest form is encouraged at the private school levels which is another reason I do not think they should be allowed to compete in the UIL. The teams that do still got smoked this year in the playoffs so athleticism and coaching still won over money, privilege, and entitlement.
