It's not the surgery that hurts, it's the $^&**% PT. I hope whoever invented that knee flexing machine rots in hell.

Tore mine in my right knee kickboxing. Had surgery a week or so later and back to full schedule in 10-14 days. Never bothers me at all and even now when I run as much as I do. Did physical therapy for a couple of weeks but all in all it was not too sever an injury.

Good knee had meniscus removal in Aug 2019. Bad knee two total reconstructions in 85 and 86 and three other surgeries since. Await knee replacement. Can't get a partial. Not looking forward to it. Did the ultimate wrong thing and youtube the procedure. Very violent surgery..

I think they’re varying degrees in tears. As I said my wife just had torn meniscus surgery 3 weeks ago and can’t bear any weight for 3 more weeks. This one was torn completely in the back of her knee. She had torn meniscus surgery on the other knee and was walking the next day. This one must have been bad.

If it came down to it, would really good knees or giant pillows be the best investment for a significant other? I mean, as long as she can still get around fairly well or course.

Hop why did they go with a partial? If Osteoarthritis was that bad shouldn't they do a total? Just asking. My doc says mine is too far gone. No Meniscus left and osteoarthritis too far along. (injured in 1983)

My wife had it done on her right knee. I think it was a BS diagnosis from the get go. Been a year and she still hurts like hell. I could see she has osteo in the pics they took but the torn miniscus part was invisible to me. I think the docs get rich handing out pills for the pain. JMHO

On my left knee, I "knew" I had a torn meniscus and then I also had some (found on the MRI and in surgery) floating cartilage, some old Osgood Schlatter which they removed the "tumor" some arthritis which they removed and I still walked out of the hospital. I'm 48 years old and overweight. I used crutches the day of the surgery. Scaled down to 1 crutch later in the afternoon and was walking that evening. Was walking normally the next day.

if it's just a torn meniscus, they'll do outpatient arthroscopic surgery. Two holes in either side of your knee cap. They'll shave down the "bad" part of the meniscus and send you home. You'll take some pain meds just for for fun for a couple of days and you'll be kicking arse like normal after that

Obviously, I have a good ortho recommendation if you need one. LOL

You’re just a bad arse because my wife can’t even put weight on hers for 6 weeks and she has 4 incisions. Same ortho who does the Rangers. He must not know what he’s doing,

I tore mine and had surgery. They had me riding an exercise bike the next day. Was back running about 8 weeks later.

I was too! Not that big of a deal. Just stick to the PT program. I pushed myself. Both knees (but not at the same time) and all is good. You will be out of the hospital in about 2 days. It's hard getting up off a chitter !! I had one of the added seats put on my chitter..It helps.
