Does anybody know where I can buy fresh shad at a bait store around Cedar Creek. I have bought some at lake Tawakoni before. Been buying frozen shad and getting tired of it falling off or just being to weak. Cannot cast a net to save my life or even know where to look.

dont give up on the cast net ...I was the same way....then my grand pa told me to go out in the yard and practice ..it helped ...you dont have to pull it in just walk over to it and try again....if you want some pointers wouldnt mind at all speding some time teaching you...and no it will not cost you anything..well ok maybe lunch at chicken exspress ....if you fish E.M. we are sure to see each other..give me a call when you are going next and I will see what we can do... P.S. i will even show you where to catch them ..on E.M...

There's some videos on my web site that show how to throw a thrownet ... click on videos after you click on the banner below and it'll have several in there showing how to throw them.

The easiest way to learn how to throw a cast net is to just have someone show you. After that you'll develop your own uniqueness.

Try going to Calusa Nets website they have a video that show's you how to do it. Watch it, practice, watch it again, and practice some more. Like previously said I still get a little rusty from time to time.

Thanks for all the help. I went to the lake yesterday after practicing a few times and did ok. Even caught one that was 7 inches long. Watched Tiny's video and it helped alot. Thanks for the extra help Brother Terry. Would like to talk to you later about some fishing spots on EM.
