Wife is sending me on a run.
Question is, who makes a better donut than Shipley’s. I think their the best donut out there. JCO Donuts are by far the best I have ever tasted. I don't think they have any franchise in the USA yet, They are based in Indonesia https://www.jcodonuts.com/id

I've had better than Shipley's at a mom & pop shop but it closed. Now Shipley's is by far the best locally (2 shops). They need to be hot though.

Pintail711, I can see we have been to the same one in Shreveport.
Cast, remember The Gables Restaurant and Wards Restaurant? Also it's not quite the same, but I still go to Neely's Brown Pig every now and then on Grand avenue. Sure I remember Wards and Gables. Gable’s building is still there. It was one of the last buildings we identified as a ‘used to be’ place. Ward’s had the yeast rolls that they sliced and made garlic toast from. I loved those things. Neely’s is pretty much the same and still in the same building. But paying five bucks for a Brown Pig is a little painful. Didn’t stop me though. They had a lot of great old pictures on the wall and several old high school yearbooks. One old guy sitting in there remembered my big sister.
Cast I have a short attention spa

Many years ago (about 65) there were Spudnut Donut shops in San Marcos. I thought they were good but I was 5 or 6. Always thought it was a strange name.

Their donuts are incredible when still hot. However, I don't see how anyone can say their kolaches are good. They are the worst around.

Southern Maid by far the best. At least in Liquor City. Their cake donuts are the only ones we buy. They can keep those sticky nasty glazed things. Air filled nothings. But the blueberry and chocolate cake donuts are off the chart good. My personal favorites are the cinnamon twists.

Don’t remember the cinnamon rolls. I just had a nickel to spend. Is there still a Spudnut shop there?
