I was wondering if this will work and will it be able to collect in the tube since punchbait is Thicker than dipbait ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/12/full-105448-33113-1576296091578722276237.jpg)

I’m not seeing how punch bait is going to end up in the tube. Short of manually stuffing it—an ugly prospect.

well you can get some " furry thangs" from Team catfish and they will work on a circle hook ...look them up a lot of folks use them
If it ain't broke don't fix it...but go ahead and work on it anyway.....

Have not had very good luck with this punchbait unless the entire hook is covered with it. So that always meant a treble. How about running your line through the tube and tying on a treble hook. Then you can push the hook and tube into the bait filling the tube and covering the hook at the same time? This is a good punch bait, but it is really attractive to the smaller channel cats. I've since switched to a bait that I like better, cats like better, and it doesn't smell. That said, give the tube a try and report back!

Take Stubby's advice. He knows what he's talking about and makes a great bait. Keep it simple---throw down some range cubes, send down some Stubby's on a #4 treble. If there are catfish in the area, you'll catch some fish! By the way, if you're casting rather than tight-lining, just keep the Stubby's on ice and it will hold while casting...just make it an easy lob and not a hard cast [slow pitch softball as compared to a Nolan Ryan fastball]. The only time I would try a tube would be if I were fishing in flowing water like a creek or river.
