Does anyone have a quick way to get a rope around the pilons?

Wanted to mention that the new two mile bridge over Tawakoni has steel encased pilings. So, all you need is a good magnet.

I use a small float on a rope swing it around pillar and use a six foot aluminum pole with a hook to catch the rope!!!!

I would agree with you , but then we would both be WRONG !!!!!

200lbs might be a little too much. I use one 60lb magnet and it works fine. Put those 200lb magnets on the pillars. You might not get back your magnet. Lol

I got ya Jet. Throw your rope up as high as you can. Then paddle as fast as you can on the right side only. Lol

What’s worked for me is tying a 1 oz weight to the end of the line. With the right hand swing it around and catch the rope on the end of the pole in my left hand. I haven’t needed anything else.

Sir another thing to keep in mind when fishing next to pylons is your kayak getting damaged from hitting the pylons. If the wind and boat activity isn't bad it's usually not an issue but with some wave/wind action it can scratch up a yak in a hurry. Just 10 minutes or so of your yak pounding against a concrete pylon can be frustrating. I've seen several "bumper systems" installed on kayaks. The best one I've seen a guy used a piece of 1/2" pvc pipe and mounted it to each side of his kayak using pvc pipe mounts. He fastened the pipe mounts to his kayak with screws. If you wanted to do this once to see if it would help before you went running screws into your yak you could get away with using Gorilla Tape to hold the pvc pipe on just for one trip. Food for thought.

You get out of it what you put into it!
