Sea Pro Todd and I went out in the gale yesterday. Launched at walnut creek. Wind kept us in big mineral all day. Caught a few on sassy but most dead sticking flukes. Ended up with about 16. Fun day on the water. [Linked Image]

Had a blast thanks for the invite ScottyP! Wife did the inventory and total is 16 stripers plus one fat bigT pesky sandy below. Lol

This is the reason I like December for bigT. Some birds are helpful some are liars but i will take them over zero birds lol.

Pink flukes caught most. Water temp 52f. Fish were suspended in 20 to 30 ft in 30 to 50 fow. DS bites are still light IMO due to lots of smaller but fat box fish. The big boys are are still not out to play. Yet. Hundred of fish under the boat but guestimate total 40 hits and only 17 boated. Still a good batting average to me. Lol. We fished noon to 530pm.

Oh yeah wind was S about 100mph LOL

Photo number 2 shows a pink fluke and a treble hook. Is that a stinger hook to increase hookups?

Yes. Sharp tiny trebble stinger i clip to the upper tail of the fluke. Caught a few on stinger. In deeper winter when the fish get bigger you don't need the stinger as much. Our Sunday fish were 17 to 19" and fat. Perfect eating sizes imo. smile

Stinger hooks for tail slappers . Stinger hooks produce, treble hook seems a bit overkill, ifn it works, hats off.
