exiting 121NB at glade turning east at Lowe's. 45MPH speed limit crossing past the double white lines when making the right turn. they are citing for both violations. not a lot of distance to get over that quickly esp the way nobody likes to yield there.....

Been doing that for years. Difficult to make the first turn. Go to the light.

I’d be curious to see how many people got written up for failure to yield. Might be worth observing for a bit.

I always cut right in front of drivers who fail to yield.

Pretty sure that exit is setup to take you to the light to head east. Lots of people like to exit and lock down to turn into the shopping center. If their writing tickets for that I’m all for it.

Besides crossing the white line (failure to obey a traffic control device) making that turn legally is impossible, you would need to have your signal for 100 feet AFTER the end of the double white, not enough distance to do that. So that turn cannot be made legally in any fashion... so suck it up and go to the light.

a speedtrap in my area typically is a small town that needs revenue so they expand their city limits sometimes 2-3 miles outside the populated area of the city....they then reduce the speed limit sometimes ridiculously low on a stretch of highway that doesn't need nor warrant a reduced speed....they stick a deputy behind a tree with a radar gun writing tickets.....

So expanding their city limits is called an ETJ, it’s legal and if the speed limit is posted on a visible sign approved by TX DOT, how is it a speed trap?
