I forgot about this thread, so thought I would add this here also.

===========================

Been a while since I have posted a report, things have been pretty hectic and I have not been around a computer much.

We have some dates available for Lewisville and Cedar Creek for May for Blue Catfish, White Bass and Hybrids. Fishing should be excellent for a couple more weeks. We also have some dates for reds on Fairfield.

Anyway, here is the report.....

4/20 - Nice mixed bag of blues and sandies, had a hard time staying out of the sandies long enough to catch blue cat. Big fish of the day went about 10 lbs and caught about 15 undersized hybrids today.

4/21 - Had a hard time staying out of the sandies again today, customers wanted to catch blue cat but everytime we moved we started catching whites again. Big fish of the day went 42#, and caught several HUGE longnose gar. Ended up with a nice mixed bag of blues and sandies.

4/22 - Caught about 40 blues today, 2 limits of magnum sandies and about 25 hybrids, never had one undersized hybrid all day, going to be an awesome year for hybrids from what I am seeing.

4/23 - Clients ran off by threats of bad weather

4/25 - Lake is muddy as heck and came up about 5 feet overnight, water looks like chocolate milk all over the lake. Fished a 1/2 day and clients managed about 30 big fat channel cat, everyone going 2 lbs or better, every where we went we caught channels today, go figure, did finally manage a blue that would have gone between 15 and 20 lbs and one big gar.

4/27 - Had a tough time getting into fish and did not put the first fish in the boat until 10:00, and then it was ON. 3 limits in 1 hour, awesom day, threw back multiple fish over 10 lbs but did have a few big fish get deep hooked and die on us. Lake still very muddy.

4/28 - Limited out 2 boats again in about 3 hours and it took much longer than it should have because a bunch of fish were missed. Lake still very muddy.

if you want to get on the water give us a shout at 817-946-1777 or visit www.txcatfishguide.com

I have also had a number of folks email me about Channel Cat trips on Lewisville, I am working on lining some of these up for the summer of anyone is interested, these will be mostly instructional trips.

Those are some might fine cats. I really appreciate that you do not keep cats 10# or heavier. We leave the big boys in the water when we catch them too. We really like the 2-5 pound fish the best.

CC is still on a spring pattern. I fished Fairfield for reds the past week, and it was good to get back to the blues. Half day two people 40 blues. Most caught in the last hour and a half, using shad in 3-5 ft. of water. 1/2 day and full day trips available.

I was wondering where your posts went, I got to where I was looking at them every day then they stopped. Those of us who are stuck in a office most every day really appreciate looking at your pictures and dreaming of the weekend. Thanks

I would like to ditto what re-fin said. I also appreciate all of the information and tips you provide as it has helped become more consistent in my search for the blue cat.

Spent another week on Fairfield and those string stretchin reds, but today it was back to cc cat fishing. Vagabond Varnell of DeSoto, TX joined me for a friendly half day of running water cat fishing. We managed to land 45 with the biggest being an 8 lb blue.

Had a trip cancel today. I just fished by myself in some shallow feeder creek running water, using cut shad for bait. It was one of those days, a 25 fish limit in one hour.

Mr. Larry Hodge of TPWD fished June 2 along with Zoe Ann Stinchcomb and Kalmia Strong. Larry is doing research on blue cat and Cedar Creek Lake for an article for Texas Sportsman magazine and probably TPW magazine. They caught 40 fish in two hours, again fishing the running creek.
