I don't have any sandbass or hybrids to report on at this time, so I'm just catching catfish.

I locate fish in heavy timbers or in cuts inside or outside the heavy timber. Using fresh shad,  the bigger the the better for catching bigger fish.  I haven't caught any giants but I've cought several slot fish that we throw back.
These slot fish are between 30 and 45 inches long and are considered our brewed fish. You can keep one fish over 45inches per day. 

Drifting is a fun way to go for bigger fish when the wind is just right.
I have some regular spots I like to drift fish in the winter that are usually good for a fish or two.

My favorite way to catch fish this time of the year is to idle around looking for them with my depth finder, stop on them when i mark fish and catchum !
