This spraying, state wide, is out of control.
I understand completely the need to control certain types of vegetation, but these are chemicals are being introduced into our lakes more and more frequently.
Is there a resource for information on the thought processes that are going into these sprayings??

They told me they are spraying 60-70 acres for Salvinia and a little Hyacinth. 3-4 days worth of spraying.

As long as they don’t do what they did at Murvaul. We get told things like just a few days of controlled spraying and the next thing you know it looks like the surface of the moon

We still have salvania!

Spraying controls Salvinia but does not eradicate it. Its just that tough to eliminate, especially when people come from Caddo with it on their trailers and boat.

Spraying hasn't really worked anywhere. Nature takes care of it every couple of years with some good cold freezing weather.

Be prepared for the LMB Virus. Oh nevermind, there is no connection between the 2.

Be prepared for the LMB Virus. Oh nevermind, there is no connection between the 2. Y’all get butthurt bout this but Caddo has been sprayed for YEARS and zero issues with the fish involved. No sores. No nothing. Fishing has gotten better with the Salvania actually. We don’t mind it long as it doesn’t take whole lake over!

I live across the street from Toho. His video doesn't even begin to sum up what is happening in FL. typically there are 10-15 boats and sometimes a helicopter on Okeechobee spraying the lake. They are not killing "invasive" plants, they are killing everything that is in the water. Harney Pond use to be filled with hydrilla and eel grass (this is just 2 years ago) and today has ZERO grass. Kissimmee is being hit just as bad as Okeechobee. The people doing the spraying don't target the invasive plants like they are paid to do. instead they hold down the handle and blast everything in the water. you find a great spot to fish, prep for the tourney, go there tourney day and it is brown and dead. terrible! HATE hearing they are doing the same in TX. I hope TPWD puts an end to that!

Rayburn has been sprayed every year for 20+ years, no issues and it controls the salvinia. The key is the contractors spraying. No supervision and they'll just spray wherever.

A lot of times they just completely overreact. Cypress springs used to be a clear water lake and fantastic fishery, then they added grass carp and completely destroyed it, always overreactions
