Glass boats are a plus in the wind like stated. Center console bay boats are nice and roomy. I use birds but I hear for crappie fishing the Garmin with live scope works excellent for fishing brush for crappie

I am old (80), I fish NE TX, SW AR, NW LA, SE OK. I got too old to pull myself up from a console boat, so I bought a G3 170 PFX stick steer boat w/70 Yamaha 80# Ultrex. I crappie fish only.. There are 3 of us old farts that fish together in different boats. some time I have a couple of grandkids (high school age) fishing with me, some times.
1. What lakes are your primary lake? big lakes big boats. 2. What are you primarily fishing for? Crappie, crappie and bass, Bass and crappie. ETC. 3. Do you primarily fish alone or with others?
If I was shopping for a new crappie boat today, I would see if I could afford a "War Eagle" 961 Prediator
My 2 cents
