The coastal marshes are overrun with wild hogs. I drove US 73 from Port Arthur to Winnie last year which kinda borders the coastal marshes just north of Sea Rim State park and Refuge and McFaddin Nat'l Wildlife Refuge. in the 15 mile trip I saw 5 dead hogs in or on the side of the roadway.
This highway was under 3-6 foot of storm surge water with Hurricane Ike , enough to float a tanker barge onto the highway. This flood wiped out the hog population but they are more numerous than ever now. The beaches on Sea Rim and McFadden is overrun with these vermin scavenging the washed up by-catch from shrimp boats. They are everywhere now throughout the Texas coastal system and coming into the towns now.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Blessings to those who suffer from anything that damages on this Earth.
I cannot imagine the pain and fear she experienced screaming for her life.
In this world, with all the news we are inundated with constantly, it is very hard to always keep a smile on your face and feel joy.
Luckily for those who believe, there is a better place beyond this world.
For those who do NOT believe, blessings to you as well. We all want "peace" in the big scheme.

These must have been pretty tame hogs to come between two cars and grab this woman. I’m sure they did their due diligence but this just doesn’t pass the smell test.

Theres always a few dead ones on 73, they eat up the banks at rayburn and Toledo, pretty much everywhere.

I've heard horror stories about pigs getting very aggressive when in larger herds. I've never thought of them as dangerous, but then I've never walked up on a herd while feeding either. Poor lady probably just got out of her car at the wrong time. Gotta be one of the wort ways to go. RIP.

It seems like it’s impossible, but the medical examiner said she had bite marks of multiple sizes, indicating multiple hogs, and she died because she bled to death. He said it was hogs that got her and originally it was believed to be either wild dogs or hogs. Seems crazy, but why would an ME put out a crazy theory like this if he wasn’t sure? I don’t see an upside.
