Get an inversion table and hang upside down every other day-it will help.

Had three vertebrae in my neck fused about 8yrs ago. And like most others in their 40's who've worked for a living all their lives, I also get occasional lower back pain. A rough day in my bass boat would flare up both, often taking me down completely for a couple of days. I got rid of it and got me a center console, now I can stand and run the boat and life is much better. Standing, I can absorb rough conditions with my knees instead of all of the shock taken by my spine. Turns out, for me, the center console is a better boat for the type of fishing I do anyway, win, win.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!

just having a back operation in the end of August and still doing PT for it I can attest to what the answer is for me.

My back problems started in 2014 when I was a judge for the Toyota Texas Bass Fest at Lake Fork. I was lucky to get two WOT anglers. Jumping wakes seems to be their thing. While I was hanging on to the scale and recording book with one hand and the other keeping me from flying out. Not good at age 72. Was followed up with lots of shots in my spine.
In 2018 I went and did it again in Austin with the same results. Except this time the pain was running down my right leg too.

Got the operation. Has helped a lot so far. My solution? Don't ride with someone else and I bought myself a bigger better boat and will only fish as THE BOATER. I control how fast I go.

Thanks, I’ll look it it. I’m just tired of bank fishing. I could angled in a local bass club and did good so I know were to find fish in the back of creeks and off points. Bank fishing just limits the location I can fish from.

I’m 39, 5’ 11”, 260 lbs. I had a microdisectomy 4 years ago and I’m starting to get symptoms again in my leg. I hope to have at least 40 more years on this earth. I have been going to all of my PT and I can’t wait to get back in the gym I gained 6lbs since the surgery which is frustrating because a year ago I was 289. I’m also trying to figure out a new workout routine. I was doing a ton of burpees but I have feeling the jumping part of that exercise will be frowned on now. I’m just looking at some options to get off the bank though I do miss tournament fishing. Thank you for your post and tight lines

Standing hurts my back worse than sitting so I wouldn't want a boat to stand and drive in. I've often thought about getting a pontoon boat because the seating is better, I can have shade for those hot days and have benches that I could lie down on. It's hard to give up the bass boat though.

If you get a boat do yourself a favor. Buy an ulterra trolling motor. You'd be surprised how much better the back is at the end of a day not having to lift a trolling motor to deploy or stow it and with the spotlock, you don't have any need to use an anchor. They are worth every penny.

I second the champion, I just went from a 184 to a 202 and the ride is great on my back/neck. had a plate put in my neck in 09, took almost a yr. to fully recover (also due to a knee replacement 2 months after the neck, long story). my lower back is shot but I can ride around in the champion all day with minimal pain at the end, have ridden in about all the brands and champion rules for smooth ride.

if buying new, charger now makes the champion 198 and 210 hulls with their cap, excellent build quality and the champion ride. sartin marine at fork has them.
