Lake is still dropping, ramp is getting difficult to use no matter what position you back your boat in. It won’t be long before it’s not usable if the lake doesn’t come up!

If anyone is out there this weekend a report on the ramp would be useful to me. Hopefully the lake gets a little bit of this rain to help.

They have a pump to raise the water level. Can't understand why it's so low. Besides boat ramp theories about pump not working or water line from Pines busted. Also there is no work on dam that I can see. Like I posted a few days ago you want be using that ramp before long

Heard they are actually lowering the lake down so they do not have to use so much chemical on it to "thin" the grass out...

Yes you can use ramp, for now. Loading is the tricky part. Keeping the lake low to kill the grass is my therory.

I can see no logic to this... if you have grass growing to 12-14 feet, lowering the lake 3 feet would have the opposite effect, the deep grass would logically get more light and grow better and deeper. Some of the shallow grass may pare back, but when the lake comes back up it'll be strong!

I never understood the theory of lowering a lake to kill the grass. When I've seen lakes managed that way, it tends to encourage more vegetation growth.

It's really bothersome when they try to permanently lower a lake level for vegetation control by lowering the spillway.
This results in more, thicker grass making bank fishing, swimming, and shallow navigation more difficult.

When does logic ever enter lake management.

All three power plant lakes have been cracked down by the EPA. Due to there waste ponds leaking , all three have been pulling the lakes down using the water to clean there scrubbers and to use to repair and clean there waste pits. Looks like all three power plants will be up and running as per usual come mid December.

Fished it today. Caught about 50. Kind of tough. Had to work for them. Y’all be on the lookout for a guy in white Phoenix with a new 4 stroke Merc on the north end. He thinks he owns that entire end of the lake.

Some people. I have zero patience for people like that. He wants his own lake, go buy one.
