I watched my Grandfather go out in a very similar fashion. Watching him go from 220lbs to 120lbs was hard as a 20 year old. I'll never forget my last conversation with him. I've come to learn no matter how long you have someone it never makes it easier. My best friends dad died in front of me, I gave him CPR and followed the ambulance with my friend and his mother to the hospital for 30 minutes from his ranch. He was like a second father to me. I had nightmares for months after. Even though the doctor's said he was gone when he hit the ground, I question everything I did. Nothing fully prepares you for the loss of a loved one, it's different for everyone. Don't feel selfish in your grief, do what you have to do to get through it.

More prayers Butch, it is a hard thing to go thru as I have lost my mom and dad. My mom was still very alert and sharp of mind but her hear arteries were severely plugged with no surgery or other treatment available. The hardest thing I ever did was call her one remaining sister and hand the phone to my mom so she could say her good by's. I had to leave the room and it is still hard to type this. I promise it gets easier but it still hurts sometimes.
