School me on AMG batteries. Do you need a special charger for them? I have a Dual Pro 3 Bank Marine Battery Charger, the one Ranger puts in their boats. Will this charger charge the Duracell AMG batteries?
Yes, the Dual Pro will charge them.

AGM's and lead acid can be charged with the same charging profile. GEL and Lithium require a different profile.

Why not just go to Wal Mart and get Everstart, they are as good or better than any other battery you can buy They are cheap and easily replaced because Wally World is everywhere- that is their benefit. As good or better than any other battery you can buy?????? Simply not true. I have an Everstart than has outlived an Optima BlueTop and is still cranking if this post needs some backup. Remember folks... You can't catch fish unless you have the most expensive item in each category, INCLUDING batteries.

SAMs AGM is not even remotely the most expensive battery out there. Guy said the Everstarts were as good or better than any other battery you can buy, and that’s false.

Remember folks... You can't catch fish unless you have the most expensive item in each category, INCLUDING batteries. I replaced 1 year old.everstarts with Optima Blue Tops. I got tired of having to run my trolling motor on 10 and barely making progress against the wind after a long day of.fishing. Since Ive made the switch my trolling motor is running at the same.setting at the end of the day as it was when i started that morning. It works for me. I dont buy the most expensive of.everythjng, in fact often agree a lot with your sentiment. I spend money where i believe it makes a difference. Doesnt matter the cost of the battery, if the wind is blowing 25 mph and you are out of juice it is tough to fish. If cheaper batteries work for you and the way you fish, good for you, i wouldnt spend more either. However, my bluetops jave helped me fish longer and more efficiently. That is worth the extra cost IMO. Ive been using them for 5 years. Dont know how many trips. But i bet if i compared the cost/trip for my battery and compared to cost of boat, fuel, launch fees, and rackle it wouldnt come close to other expenses.

I been using them for close to 30 years, no complaints here, and I do certainly believe you have to have the best stuff to catch the most fish.

I'm not telling anyone how to spend their money. I have nice gear too, but there's just some things I see no need to throw extra money at, and one is batteries.. Mine do me fine. Whether they are Exide from Academy or Everstart.. 2 trolling 2 cranking. That bluetop I had was the last one I'm buying. One battery I can tell you I've had GREAT experience with is Interstate.

Interstate used to be good but my last 2 rounds they have sucked and I know several dealers that quit handling them for that very reason..

I started out running Interstate and was not pleased with their performance/life, switched to Trojan SC225 that I also found lacking. I was on a trip when the Trojans puked and all I could source locally was Walmart Everstart 29 series. Threw them in the boat and got 4 1/2 years service out of them, the next pair gave me 5 years and the Bass Cat has 3 in it as I type this. Great price/availability/service life. IMHO, all things considered they might just be the best value out there. Most often we tend to think that the more expensive the purchase, the higher quality the product I paid twice the price for my Trojans and received far less value.
