i started havin a problem with my trolling motor as to where somtimes when i hit the power button with my foot it wont come on and if i move the motor to the left and back to the right it will kick back on. whats goin on here. anyone else had these problems and how do i fix it

Had same problem. Wires have been broken in the head from turning the motor. Pull off the top cover and check it out. A little tape and wire wrap fixed mine.

Sounds like a wiring problem to me. Wires do not have to be broken to cause problems, most connections are made with spade terminals. They can work themselves loose and may just need to be pushed back on. If they are loose fitting they will need to be replaced. Look for discolored wire ends at the connections, those need to be replaced for sure.

Is it a motorguide? Mine toasted the wires inside the head unit. recrimped them and back to working again.
