My insurance just renewed on my boat which is a 2013 Skeeter ZX20 and.it went.to $78 a month. This seems high to me and was wondering what some of you other guys pay of you don't mind stating what you pay. I just feel that is too much to pay per month.

If I recall, I pay about $450 a year so that is about $38 bucks a month.

Now I am wondering if I pay twice a year which would put it in your range. hmmm

There are huge differences in coverage between policies. If you are paying that much on a 2013 you likely have a replacement policy instead of a policy that just covers the value of your boat as it sits. That being said I pay $45 a month on a 2017 20 TRX but pay it yearly.

Wow, $900 a year? That is a bunch in my book. Mine is $200 a year, but I am insuring a 98 Triton TR-18, trailer, Evinrude 150 motor and $3,000 personal effects and electronics. AND....I have my insurance bundled with USAA, and USAA uses Progressive for marine policies.

Dumb question - Does that cover if the motor blows up? or if the body gets damaged?

I would think we are talking accident insurance here. Mine is about $40/month. I don't pay any attention to it. It is peanuts compared to the house and 3 vehicles. I dropped insurance on my Ranger for about 15 years or half the life of the boat. Keep in mind that homeowners will cover if boat is stored at your house and auto will cover when towing. At least mine does.

I pay Geico $712 a year for $32,000 property coverage on a 2008 BassCat Cougar. It also includes liability coverage in case of accident including medical.

On a 2017 and up 20-21' bassboat you will be in the neighborhood of $100 per month for full coverage including replacement, $300.000 liability etc. There might bea little more or little less overall cost but $100 per month is pretty normal.

Talk to Bob at WorldWide. Bob Luellen 517-627-8080. All he does is boat insurance and he'll make sure you get what you need and at a reasonable rate. .

+1

Be sure you get an agreed value policy so they canโ€™t depreciate the value on you. My deductible dropped from $500 to $0 by $100 a year each year without a claim and the premium drops a little each year also with no claims.

Yes, I basically have everything covered on the boat from front to rear and top to bottom. It is also bundled with my car and house insurance.
