My nephew just became a certified Sommolier. I frankly do not see any use I can derive from this as he didn’t think it was funny when I asked him if Night Train was still a good buy.

But congrats to him anyway!

That's similar to being a certified Ciserone in my line of work. You learn a lot about beer, but in the long run it's a lot of work just to add another line on your resume.

He actually works as a regional manager for a large recognizable wine purveyor. It is likely he did this to improve his position within the company or more likely something to put on his business card. It was kind of interesting to follow the process somewhat.

When I was in the hotel business we had a great Sommolier. I was in charge of buying the wine. He taught me a lot.

Disney World employs more Master Sommoliers than any other company in the United States.
