Filing this because of parents situation in ft worth. Who do you file this with. Any help direction on this matter appreciated

Deeds are typically filed with the county clerk. As mentioned above, you should seek legal counsel and make sure this is the right step for your situation.

Both of my parents are in bad health and home bound, so we just sat down with a lawyer for elder care purposes. Along with power of attorney (financial and medical) documents, he also prepared and filed a Lady Bird Deed with the county clerks office. Their house is no longer considered an asset and technically belongs to me and my sister. It was easy, but only works out if there is no eternal family conflicts.

One's homestead is normally not counted as an asset for Medicaid planning purposes, and a transfer on death deed does just what the name says - the ownership and title transfers at the moment of death. This avoids probate and protects the home from creditor claims that might arise during probate.
