guys as a TD and tounament fisherman i tend to agree but lets tak a step back and look at what he is asking
is it feasable ??
no the cost of running a tournament trail alone would negate this as an affordable solution...
also when getting bass at a weigh in we are getting them released as quickly and safely as possible so trying to transport them back to different areas of the lake would prolong this process and do more harm than good.
so you can see that this is just an inquisitive tffer and not someone ranting about us dang old tournament fishermen :p

I want to come to Huskers defense a bit here. He is very generous to the tournament fisherman on Eagle Mtn. and I have numerous times seen him invite a guy in to fish or tell them that "Hey, they are here today" or "their not around, don't waste your time". Husker lives in one of the best coves on the lake and does more for the bass, the bass fisherman, and especially the tourney guys; than anyone in that cove or on the lake for that matter. We watched him work his tail off last year making fish habitat and he's no spring chicken,(no offense Larry)and there are 50 other dockowners around that never did anything around their docks when the lake was down except draw more water out for their preicous lawns and landscape!!! Cut him some slack ya'll, the man just isn't convinced that fish return and needs further education like a few of the responses that were already stated. He harrasses no one, ever. Not a nicer guy that you will ever meet. It is common knowledge TH, Eagle Mtn. fish are hauled up north then back south, back and forth, all the time. So if they aren't there right now, after next weeks tournament; they will be.

Most tournament organizations do not operate on the man power, size and scale of budget to make lake wide live release practical.
How would broad distribution really help your situation? Most anglers are a tight lipped lot about the location they caught their fish, so returning them to your dock is'nt likely. If the winning angler returned his fish to your dock then I suspect you would have a lot more company in the future.
I appreciate the work and effort you have gone through to create your own fish mecca. If you make your cover less obvious then fewer people might discover it.
If others find it and enjoy it then realize that you are a blessing for them and it is a mutually beneficial arrangement. The bounty does'nt come from you, nor is it yours to have exclusively. The bounty comes from the Lord and is there for all of us to discover.

Texas Husker -- I am a tournament fisherman and I can appreciate your grievance. There's no real good response. Perhaps there can be some iota of consolation in that anglers who fish in tournaments treat bass as gentle as possible, keeping them alive to be released back into the lake. But there are also anglers who desire to catch fish to be able to put food on their own tables.
I know there is not a single solution to everyone's satisfaction.
What if we come up with a graphic sign that dock owners can put onto their docks indicating a request for live fish to be released at their dock? A simple symbol at the end of the dock would suffice. Yes, this would also be a signal to anglers that more fish might be at that particular dock, generating additional angler traffic, but, it's an idea. (Maybe put it on your neighbor's dock.)
As I said earlier, there is no real good solution that I know of but be comforted that if I fish your dock I will treat your property with the utmost respect.
On average, your heart beats 100,000 times a day. One day, one of those heartbeats will be your last. Then what?

Well you've seriously crossed yourself with The Fishing God from above. I mean really, how is taking a few fish in front of your no account dock going to seriously effect the fish habitat? Typical self centered property owner. Be grateful you even have a house on the lake.

Yeah, what Easymoney said!
Come on guys lay off Husker, or read easymoneys post before you start jumping on the attack bandwagon. Funny how hardly any of you know the guy but from one post you can determine he is self centered? You couldnt be more wrong!

Some of you guys have totally misconstrued my point. I don't discourage anyone from fishing my dock. In fact, I get a lot of good info by visiting and/or watching fishermen as they pass by. I was just wondering why a different distribution system wouldn't work. Thanks easymoney for the kind words. At 66, I need all the help I can get. By the way, just improved the habitat a little more yesterday and will do additional work later on this week. Now, you just have to figure out what I did. Last night two 4 lbers. were dumb enough to show up so they are not all gone Larry

Right on Easymoney! Not sure why some of the harsh responses have been posted. As stated above Larry has done a lot of work to make his dock and good one and doesn't keep it a secret from anglers. He simply pondered about why fish can't be released back to other areas of the lake and the simple reason is there just aren't the resources for most tournament trails to do that without a live release boat. Personally I have caught lots of fish off Larry's dock and released everyone right there but I certainly understand the concern about working hard to attract and provide good habitat for fish just to see them hauled off to the other end of the lake. Don't worry Larry there are probably 2 fish in that cove ready to move in for everyone hauled away! Guys Larry is one of the good landowners that has never chased a fisherman away and in fact does more for the fish around his area than any other in that big cove. Honestly we should all be thanking Larry for all his work as we all benefit from it. Thanks Larry and next time I'm out there maybe I will drop a couple extra fish from other parts of the lake off for you!

Ok then sorry for my post, I had flashbacks from people telling where they thought i couldnt fish and like Tim Cline said after a while you start to get tired of the holier than thou attitude of marina and dock owners.
