So I'm new to the Mr. Twister Sassy Shad. This might seem a dumb question, but how do you rig these up? Do you use a jig head with hook, or say a 1/0 Bass hook with a splitshot weight a foot out front? And what's the most effective way of fishing these shad once you rig them up? I Have a bag of 2.5" chartruese with silver flakes that I've been dying to try.

depends where your fishin, if in a pond just tie on a size 2 or 3 hook and toss it out and wake it or swim it slowly, if at the lake and you want to cover more water use a weighted hook or like you said a jig head hook

I'm sitting here at work and just realized there's a diagram on the back of the bag that I'd forgotten about. Doh!

Use an 1/8th ounce head you can find at wally world and put the hook up through the back fairly straight and then throw it out and crank it back at different speeds until you get a hit then fish it at that speed.

I like the round jig heads with eyes, seem to do better. Cast and let it drop to the bottom. Real it in a little ways then stop and let it drop to the bottom. Repeat. or else, a slow retrieve. If you think you're reeling too slow, then slow down a little.
Try white or pearl SS tail-dipped in chartreuse spike-it, garlic flavored. But don't spill it on anything you want to keep.

What are you trying to catch with it? At Tawakoni, we use them to fish for Striper/Hybrids on fish head shaped jig heads with the hook rigged through the back. When you see surface action, throw it out, count it down about 5 seconds and then start a steady retrieve and hold on tight.
