I was born here and lived here all but a few years of my life (in which I lived in Alabama). I would consider leaving Texas when I retire to some state with cheaper property taxes.

Born in Texas, lived there until my 57th year. Got tired of paying the Texas Wealth Tax and moved to Alabama. I'll visit, but never move back.

My Mom and her side of the family are all from Texas. I was born elsewhere but have lived here longer than anywhere else. I love Texas. Love the people and the independance of the state. It has something to offer everyone...except seasons. Other than that I love it and its home.

Iā€™m the only Native Texan in my immediate family. Born on a Island to boot(Galveston)-My 2 children as well. The rest of the fray are a bunch of Hillbillies from Arkansas... smile
If I leave Texas, Iā€™m heading for Florida.

I hear the "Texas has no seasons" argument a lot. Especially from folks up north. Texas has the same seasons, just summer is longer (much longer if south of I-10), summer is severe, fall and spring are generally shorter , and winter is a bit milder and shorter.

Example ... when I lived in Maine I heard this. Although there it actually snowed from October until May, then June was spring, there was then a month of summer where in the mid-day shorts were comfortable, then fall hit mid August with morning temps in the 40's. With such a short summer it seemed there was none.

Now, only the mid latitude states can really say they have pretty equal seasons IMO.
