What is your favorite Lake for Cats, and why? Mine would have to be Tawakoni. I have caught some of my biggest cats out of there, and have the most luck...

Without a doubt my favorite would have to be Tawakoni...but as for the best "QUALITY" wise, they would be Lake Wilson and Lake Pickwick in Alabama. Fished there for the Cabela's King Kat Classic. Have not fished any lake that is better than those 2! No doubt about it!! Santee Cooper might be known as the king of cat lakes, but these 2 far surpass it. IMHO!!

For big cats I would say Navarro Mills and for a great quantity of cats, I would suggest Lake Raven (Huntsville State Park). I have fished them both multiple time with great success.

Tawakoni for quanity and quality. Well i do live on it and know the deep structure they hang out on. I would pick Ray Hubbard for flatheads though. Havent been there more than a bass tournanment that we havent wacked atleast one on a crank bait or plastic

free access for fishing on tawakoni can be had at the west tawakoni city park- plenty of people fish and catch catfish on the point at the park tawakoni has to be at the top of any catfishing list
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Tawakoni is also my favorite lake. It is unreal. I just wish that everyone would treat it with the respect that it deserves, so it will remain a great lake.

I cannot imagine a better catfish lake for channel cats than Lake Conroe. Guides even offer free trips if you don't catch your limit.

Mike, Can you post who the guide is, I am curios about that. Lake Conroe does have plenty of channel cats and open water has plenty ofblues. But, IMO. The best Lake in the state has to be Lake Livingston, they have a 50 fish limit per person for a reason.

Maybe not the best but the one I know best and therefore my favorite is CC. Also my favorite for crappie, whites, and hybrids.
