Recommendations?

Check out the options available on several of the websites that compare rates, such as Power to Choose. Know before hand how much electricity you use during different seasons and you can decide what term and price plan makes the most sense. Just be careful because the pricing can be very deceptive depending on exact usage, such as a lump sum increase when you monthly usage goes above a certain figure.

Energy Ogre cut my bill in half just by changing to them. They’ve changed me to lower rates/new deals three times in a year in a half and I didn’t have to do anything. They have great customer service, too. Can’t recommend enough.

Good night....What were you paying to start with? My average bill per year is around $150 or less.

Averaged about $350.

I had Reliant then Champion then Gexa. I have never had a current provider offer me a market rate. It is too easy to switch to get the best rate. I am now with First Choice. The problem these days is you have to know your monthly usage and build a spreadsheet to compare the tiered plans to get the best deal. That is why these 3rd party companies have popped up. They are OK for the people that have no clue how to build a spreadsheet.

I didn't read any of the responses but I would run a heavy duty extension cord to the neighbors and run as much as you can off that cord.
