Carry a Leatherman Squirt or 25 year old Old Timer (Middleman Jack model) as an EDC. If I'm expecting more heavy duty needs, I carry a Leatherman Skeletool.
The Old Timer has become special to me and I don't want to lose it. Because of this I tend to carry it as my "dress knife".

CRKT Bull I got at Cabela's ten years ago and lost a few years back. Still the best knife I ever owned. Discontinued for some reason. ![[Linked Image]](https://files.knifecenter.com/knifecenter/crk/images/6562.jpg)

The old Buck knife was good, now they and many others are made in China and are of lesser quality.

The thing you must remember is it an every day carry or every day use knife. Like hop and some others, I use my knife every day and it gets used for a wide variety of things, not just cutting. Kershaw has been my go to brand due to its durability. I recently purchased three CRKT from chickenman and have liked the edge they hold.
Due to the fact that my knife is used daily, I can't go dropping $100+ on one.

Mine is a "Zero Tolerance" model 350 folding knife. Stays sharp with minimal sharpening. https://zt.kaiusaltd.com/knives/knife/zt0350A bit pricey, but worth the $$ in my opinion. It's operable with either hand, and EASY one handed opening - the blade locks securely into place using just my index finger. The belt clip can be mounted to allow carry from either end and for either hand (it's normally clipped in my right hip pocket because I'm a righty). The handle is flat and sits easily in just about every clothing item I've tried it in. Lightweight, textured grip allows me to hang on even when my hands are covered in halibut slime & blood. SHARP, stout blade that can cut through some fairly heavy bone. If I'm out for an evening walk or jog, I'm confident that this knife will stop a big angry dog. Not so sure that it'll work on a black bear up north, and don't plan on trying it. I've carried Benchmade, Kershaw, Spyderco and once I got my ZT0350BW all of the other ones just sit on my dresser.

My grandfather's case. Have the same one, only belonged to my grandmother. She carried it in her purse. I have my father's pocket knife that is like that knife. Kattelyn, I have two pocket knives on my key chain, lol. They do come in handy at times.

Figured I would update with my purchase. Normally wouldnt spent this much on a knife but I had some gift certificates and decided to splurge. Benchmade Bugout with SV30 steel. I liked it over the griptilian due to its length and it was a little thinner on the handle. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/11/full-28450-29782-20191105_193323.jpg)
