We got into some big blues about 8 years ago around the island near the dam with jug lines. we lost several due to 5/0 hooks. Jug lining about 15-20 feet next to deep water would be a good start. The problem is that there is 80 foot water near by so we lost 1/2 of our jugs and found about 1/2 of them too late.
Build your jug line with 7/0 90ss eagle claws if you can get them and use circle's if you can't. Make the lines 80 feet long but wrap the excess around the jug (we use bleach jugs) then use a strong rubber band to secure the extra line to the jug. When a big fish drags it into deep water the rubber band will allow the line to peel off. This will help in finding your jugs.
Perch and shad are the bait of choice.

what does "ttt" mean?

I don't trust a catfisherman who doesn't have shad scales on his hands or his reels...period.
