I have been looking to find a used Yamaha 225 or 250 outboard for my 95 300ZX, was wondering if anyone has any idea on the best place to find a used motor around the Dallas area?
Thanks!

Call Wayne at Hydrotec in Missouri. DO NOT call any of the internet rebuilders like blackbird, you will be dissapointed. https://www.hydrotecmarine.com/

I looked at a lot of motors by people wanting to trade in their sleds. I've got NO problem calling out sleaze when I see it, here's two of the worst:
Customer had a 150 Merc, bought from blackbirds. Not one gasket. Not one. All orange pookie. Thieving criminal right there.
Worst than that? Guy brought in a Yamha proV just "rebuilt" by captain Mac in Austin. Sucker paid $3,000.00 for a "complete" rebuild. Except four pistons didn't have rings. Not missing one, there were NONE in four holes.
Be very careful, and deal with people with a reputation to uphold. Ask for references, and by all means have a professional check it out if you're not sure. Cheapest hundred bucks you'll ever spend.
