If budget is a major factor, consider buying a used one. You will be able to pay about 1/3 the price of a new one if you watch carefully.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll sit tight on the advice above and see what the sales season brings us. It appears that the Plus model is the oldest model that is compatible with Livescope (vs old Panoptix).

I wish i could afford the garmin trolling motor but i couldn't pass up the Xi3 Pinpoint model for $800 when it went on sale at Bass Pro. I know it won't network with the echomap but i'll have to survive!

I think i found a fair deal and acquired a used Garmin echomap plus 93sv for $450. Looking forward to getting it installed! i have ordered the new ram mount and otherwise should be simple install.

I will be looking online for youtube videos and other help on getting the settings right. if anyone has links or vids they recommend, please share!

next year i will save up (or sell a kidney) to add the livescope!
