You may have to find a liquor store that can put you on a waiting list for it so they can hold you one. Some stores won;t hold them but some will. They usually sell out the same day they get them in. Got me a bottle in the bar right now and taking my time with it!

Was able to get a bottle from the Randolph AFB Class 6 a few months ago, had to get on the wait list. They obtained 50 bottles.

Probably your best bet honestly. Selling and shipping beer and liquor is kind of a legal gray area so finding someone willing to sell close-by will be your best shot if you decide to go the secondary market route.

Running into a bottle in a store is a luck of the draw type deal. Not likely to find it in time for a gift-giving situation.

If you are not able to find a Blanton's (Buffalo Trace Distillery) in time; the following would be a good substitute.

Other Bourbon's from Buffalo Trace Distillery
George T Stagg Jr
EH Taylor Barrel Proof

Others
Booker's small batch cask strength--cool bottle, delicious
Willet Pot Still Reserve--unique bottle; very tasty

I wouldn’t call it the best. I have single barrels of 1792, 4 roses, Elijah Craig, Evan Willams and a few others that are as good or better than a regular bottle of Blanton’s. That being said I have a bottle of Blanton's Gold Edition that I have yet to open. The good and bad with single barrels are that they vary in taste from barrel to barrel.

Blanton's isnt even in my Top 10. Everything I've had from that mash bill does nothing for me.

The OP is asking where to find it in order to purchase. He say's nothing about it being the best or worst.

I can't believe it is as hard to find these days. I remember seeing it constantly at Spec's before it became such a hip bourbon.

It’s amazing some of the brands that are becoming hard to find. I just found my all time favorite and bought 3 bottles because it has been so scarce. BTW, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is excellent.

it's in the $70 range where I've bought it (after tax). I like to keep one on hand but Eagle Rare is probably my favorite. Less than half the price but just about as hard to come by
