The intake on those motors have O rings instead of a gasket . At about 150000. miles mine started going through coil packs , Found that the intake was leaking anti freeze around the coil packs . The bad thing is you have to get a new intake manifold . They tend to warp .

If it’s the intake June let me know , if there is a company owned NAPA store nearby I can help out on the price. I can’t beat Rock Auto or Amazon in most cases but I can a least help out some.

I have a 2012 Ford F-150. Sometimes I have an anti-freeze/coolant leak and sometimes I don’t. I can go months and I will never see a drop leak. Then all off a sudden I have anti freeze all over my driveway. I’ve taken it to mechanic and it wouldn’t leak and they couldn’t find where it was coming from. Then months later it sttarts again. Any suggestion besides don’t buy ford. Thanks Do you change your own oil? I ask because. I have taken mine to KwikKar a few times. When I take it to them, they TOP OFF the coolant recovery tank. It is supposed to only be at the “full cold” level to allow for expansion. When they fill it to the top, it overflows all over the motor at normal operating temps. Good reason to do your own maintenance

One of the many reasons I no longer own a Ford.

I had the exact problem on my 2012. Same truck, Same engine. Same symptoms. I think it is a known issue on that model. I can’t remember all the details but was an o-ring in a poorly designed connection from plastic fitting - I think an elbow maybe? that had a hose connected. The mechanic had to replace the plastic piece, o-ring, and hose.
The parts were back ordered from ford for seems like a month or 2. It only leaked when very cold weather so I just kept an eye on the coolant level till the parts came in. I wish I could tell you exactly which hose and where it connected but can’t remember. It was on the engine end, not the radiator end.

June, it’s a combination of the water pump and flattened thermostat housing/bypass hose orings. Sometimes the degas bottle hose as pictured also. Pretty common. The orings flatten and leak with temperature change. Expect to see more with the colder days
