Almost go time everyone. Weather forecast says

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 48. Calm wind becoming south southeast around 5 mph in the evening.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 75. South wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wind is supposed to kick up a bit around 11:00 so be careful and know where you are and give yourself some time. Otherwise it's going to be a beautiful day! Remember everyone has to check in at Chandlers Landing in the morning. We'll get started at 5:00. Thanks to you all and see you at the ramp!

We are half way through the competition day! We have a FFAC record turnout of 99 boats fishing! As normal the wind forecast for later in the day has come in early so she's a bit rough out there, but Ray Hubbard fish have a reputation of liking the wind. We've already had reports of a 7 pounder being caught. Come by the weigh in this afternoon and get some prize tickets and watch some Hubbard beauties weighed in! We start weighing fish at 3:00PM! Hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Jeff Meier and Walter Archer, long time Hubbard veterans who walked off with the big prize X2 today. They won the tournament with a great bag of 22.16 and also caught big bass of the tournament with a 7.74 giant! The wind made it tough on a lot of people today but we had many solid bags weighed in. As Doug said it took 16.61 to get a check today. And David is correct since he's been one of those volunteers for several years. Exhaustion is setting in. But before I log out a quick thank you to Larry Ladnier of Victory Fishing for running a great tournament! And a huge thank you to my brothers and sisters of the Ray Hubbard Bass Club who worked so hard to put on this event. Not too bad for a bunch of amateurs. You all make me PROUD! I will get full results and lots of pictures posted later this week. I think I will sleep well. grin

And by the way, we raised over $47,000.00 for the American Cancer Society! Thanks to everyone who came out!!!!

For this time of year weather can get a little dicey so besides a little wind it was pretty much perfect for weigh in. So grateful to be part of this tournament and see so many long time fishing friends and really thankful for all of the support for this benefit.

What a great event! way to go RHBC and a HUGE thank you to all the sponsors and people that help make this growing event spectacular every year! Pat yourselves on the back, every one of you, for this is helping to research ways to combat and work for a cure such a horrible disease! I appreciate everyone of you that offered up assistance when I reached out to you for this event. It means more to me than you realize! Thank you.

Tom, you, Larry, and your crew of volunteers did an outstanding job yesterday. If you could have dialed the wind down some it would have been appreciated! But, we were one of the first to show up, around 4:30am and your folks were already busy working hard. Your efforts are truly appreciated! We hoped all day for that one big bite, but just over 14lbs isn't too bad. However, weighing over 22 is just awesome. Congratulations to the DANG winners!!

Until this year, I had no idea how much work went into this event. Tom is probably already working on next year's event.

For many months, Tom has been holding meetings with ACS, club volunteers, and sponsors. The number of hours of work and planning that went into this was incredible. So many people came together to make this happen, but I don't think Tom gets enough credit for this. Tom ran the show and put in countless hours to make this event happen.

Great Job Tom! Your passion for this event and for the cause is inspiring. And thanks to all of the volunteers and sponsors for helping to make it happen.
