 trolling motor power button sticking

I have a Minnkota Fortrex trolling motor and the small on/off power button that is on the top left of the of the foot control is sticking. I touch it with the left side of my foot for power but it stays on even when my foot is removed. I have to tap it with my foot to get it to shut off.
Is this a common problem and is there and easy way to fix it? Thanks in advance!
