Well, there's nothing like the Hill Country, so I had to venture down and fish the creek I affectionately call "The Creek of Gold" this weekend. It's definitely one of God's treasures. One of the treasures we've been searching for is a 10 inch plus Redbreast to register for a C&R record. I've caught a couple before but never registered them. With a kayak and a little extra effort I was able find one. Despite all the poor earthworms that my friends have drowned in pursuit of this fellow, it was a magical fly that caught him. It was a great day of fishing and I caught a lot of big bluegill, redbreast, rios and small bass. The fish are really starting to fatten up already. I suspect I will have to sneak back down there and take back a couple of weight records I lost to my friends too ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/10/full-89995-28394-cibolo_102019b.jpg)

Congratulations J-Moe on your latest record fish. This year has been a very good year for catching big Redbreast,Rios, and Redear. Again super fish and congratulations. Side Note: There is a certain river that Chuck (BAF) has been fishing a lot. He has pulled some HUGE Redbreast out of it this year, especially this fall. I checked the records of TPW and see that the both of you own that river as far as the Redbreast goes. I know he has caught several this past week that were in the 10" range.

Thanks Andrew, Will, Chuck, Fred and Curtis No, I didn't weigh this one. Since I already own the fly rod weight record on the water body I didn't want to chance the fish dying. I weighed the next 2 biggest on my hand scale and they were around .7 lbs. This one was in the .75 to 1 lb. range. Yes, they are so aggressive and fun. The water was fairly clear and a saw a huge flash attack the slowly sinking fly. I set the hook before I even felt the bite. I wasn't sure what I had because of the size and fight of the fish. And I absolutely love the way they attack and destroy top water flies. I feel like an 8 year old with the fly rod in my hand for the first time. And yes Chuck and I share the records for now. But there are lots of even bigger fish in this water body. No worries though, Rick will find them soon and take all our records from us
