H2O Mettle BC Reel from Academy. I have a few and are great reels for the money. There are several models to choose from. They hold up well around saltwater also. You won't be disappointed.

This is a very common problem. Bait casters backlash, spinning reels are very difficult to be accurate with and spin casters have no line or drag capacity. There just aren't anymore options. The person that wants to move up a rung on their bass fishing expertise, has got to make a choice. When I fished for nothing but saltwater fish, I used nothing but spinning reels. My casts just didn't have to be that pinpoint in that big ocean. In 2000, I decided I wanted to see "why in the world people would fish with a bait caster". After a few thousand backlashes, I found out why. The accuracy and speed of casts was so much better.
In my personal opinion, for bass fishing, a bait caster is the only way to go. You just have to get out there and practice. Even after the best of reel set ups, a bait caster is going to backlash. We all do it. After a few months, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

Try one of the new Curado DC or SLX DC reels??? They are supposed to be anti backlash and great. This what I would do for sure. About to buy one for myself.
