You guys ever play hooky ? I am most definitely not playing hooky right now in my pjs, drinking White Russians watching pawn stars while petting the dog . The mild headache This morning and all the crazy hours I work would never ever interfere with my work schedule most definitely not .

I did when I was full time. Now as a contractor it takes forever to get pto hours built up

I still get paid as an hourly technician. So if my money/hours are all good and there’s not a crazy job going on it’s no big deal. In the future as a peace rate technician this might change but money will be better but harder to take off . No telling ... I basically called my boss this morning and told him my p**** hurt this morning and to check the schedule . He called me back and said stay home

Never have. I've been here about 18yrs or so. I've actually have never missed a day from being sick either.

I'm self-employed. No work = no pay.

As a result, I work even when im not working... email and cell phone never shut's off, it's exhausting.

In fact, im making this post while sitting on a conference call!

I can count one one hand the number of days I've called is sick in the last 25 years. Each one was due to a true illness/injury. My job doesn't involve any true manual labor, so I can understand people with different circumstances occasionally needing some down time when not truly sick. The seven weeks a year of PTO I'm now entitled to also helps tremendously.

i did when I was young. got fired. joined the military. they fixed me. Now I don't play hooky. good way to get a bad rep. I get 4 weeks off, so I'm good.

I have a few times in years past, but I get 35 pto days now and I work at home so I don’t anymore

Perhaps on the occasional Thursday in late November and December when the conditions are right to smash em at Squaw Creek...

I think of playing hooky as not taking vacation or a sick day but not going to work or leaving work early. I don’t do that. Never. Wouldn’t happen.

I call them mental health days

Vision problem. Just can't see being there.
