Too true Gato, too true. thumb
Though i’ve got to get a heavier cast net. Mine takes all day to find the bottom in 24-28 fow.

Kudos to Gato! He doesn’t tell me where the blue eyed white blue cats play!

Ed, a deep hole taped net is the way to go! I keep a regular cast net for shallow bait but for anything over about 6’ deep and I throw the taped net. It’s a total game changer in deep water! I prefer to let Gato throw it though. His back is stronger and his beard isn’t white yet!

Oh ya, I hear that. Sadly my kid has less back than me. I’ll have to pitch for now.roflmao
What size mesh should I be casting? Bigger mesh should fall faster... Then I’ll go for the heaviest weight I can come up with.

Use Gato’s! The extra weight in these nets take adjusting to throw properly. Big net and lots of weight! If ya like it buy a new one later

I will when we get together next. thumb Those deep hole nets look good, though I am going to try to save for something like Tim Wade's nets (1.5oz/ft).
I'm getting the throwing down pretty consistent. Though my current nets are much happier in shallow water. Seems like they take forever to touch bottom. I am a taped net believer too. Though with my current nets being so fine meshed, it isn't worth taping them--even bought some webbing I was going to sew in, instead of duct tape. They'll still be good for spring/summer bait.

I’m camping with my son out at Hickory Creek Park Saturday night Ed. We are taking the boat and fishing Sunday morning and maybe pull a short drift Saturday eve. Hollar at me if your on the lake and y’all can come grab the net.

We won't be out this weekend. Both of us are helping out at the Euless Greek Festival, all weekend long. They have great gyros though!
We're missing a scout campout this weekend as well

It’s been years, but I never had good luck transferring wild fish to a tank.
