I have a place at Lake Fork so therefore I only fish there. I know one of the big advantages of Fluorocarbon line is it's lack of visibilty. I think it would be a necesity if you fished some of the highland lakes Like Buchanan. My question is, since I only fish Fork and most of you know the water color there, is it necessary to use this line there ?

Lake Fork has enough vegetation to usually keep the water clairity to the point that FC would help, but there are other qualities to FC that make it an advantage to use so don't just focus entirely on it's reduced visability in the water.

If you are just fishing the veggies on Fork then the cutting properties of braid can really work in your favor.

FC line has good abrasion resistance, heightened sensitivity, lowered visibility and increased density to help you acheive deeper depths.

FC line does have a learning curve that goes along with its use. Be careful with your knots and check your line if it gets kinked. As a line it does well but when it gets weakened it quickly deteriorates in line integrity.

FC line is good stuff on any lake but only you can decide if it fits your budget and fishing style. I like Seagaur best but there are many good options.
