My wife and I would like to start fishing while kayaking. She would like to paddle around and site see while I mostly fish. We would also like something with pedals or some other leg propulsion. What options are there?

Get separate kayaks, that will save your marriage. A tandem pedal kayak will run at least $2500-$3000 and weigh at least 120 lbs. If you want easy power, check out kayaks you can attach a Bixpy Jet to.

Tandem options without rough water or saltwater is prob best a canoe. I do agree with tallgrass individual kayaks is prob a better option in most cases.

I currently fish out of a Tarpon 130T that I bought when my kids were little, and it does pretty good as a solo. For two adults, I recommend to purchase separate kayaks. I am in the market for a single 12 footer. Not to hijack this thread, but can you all recommend a decent 12 footer? I have been eyeballing the Jackson Liska, but I am not big on the price. I like the ability to stand when fishing.

I agree with Christian and Tallgrass... If she wants to site see, you could get her a paddle yak and get yourself a pedal yak. As an added bonus, you will have a paddle yak in case you ever want to fish a shallow river/stream solo (something that a pedal is not best suited for).
If you are set on a tandem pedal, the Hobie Oasis in a stable option. It's basically a tandem Outback and would probably be my personal choice if I was looking for for a tandem pedal. Hobie also make the Compass Dou, this is a stable lightweight option. The also make Pro Angler 17, this will be the most stable and you will need a trailer for it... Its a beast!
Im not pushing Hobie... They happen to have the most pedal tandem options. Aside from a few importants, they may be the only option???

I have a Native FX 15 tandem listed in the classifieds section and I just dropped the price to $900

Most of the time wife pedals on her Jackson cruse and I paddle on my Jackson Mayfly. She shares sometimes! ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2019/10/full-88434-27162-20190726_162416.jpg)

If you want to go peddle/paddle, Hobie has a tandem. This is called the Oasis. Another option would be to do the Compass Duo. If you want the option of paddle/peddle/sail, the Tandem Island (TI) is of course another option to consider. The cool thing about the TI is that you can break it down to just a kayak and go paddle/peddle. Check those out and see if you like. ACK sells all of these kayaks. If you have any questions on these kayaks, hit me up. I'd be happy to help ya. 832-588-7091 Afterwards, let's go fishing. Tight lines!!
