Just got back from the crappie expo and it was amazing. Picked up a lot of new jigs I can’t wait to try out. Learned a lot and loved talking to the tournament pros from out of state. Got some scented crappie trailers from crappie psychic out of Louisiana and have never thought about using a trailer on a jig. They also had a vender with a jig head that you put a crappie nibble in the head and it is the jig head eyes. Anybody else go or compete?

Wanted to so badly. I was actually 30 minutes away from there, but was stuck at a mud park for one of my fund raisers. I just could not get out and make it happen. Looking for more info on it though as I want to do it next year.

Sheppard brothers lead all three days. Big fish I believe was first day 2.02. Not a lot of fish caught everyone said it was tough.

It was a blast! I'm still not caught up on sleep or work but can't wait for next year! We had a great week prefishing only to find out on day 1 our fish moved and then storms kept us hid under a boat dock for a couple hours hiding from the Lightning. Pretty dissapointed day one only bringing 6 fish to the scales with 5 being small keepers but that mood changed when we found out only 40 teams caught a crappie on day one and we were moving on!! Day 2 we changed it up and had 8 keepers. Sadly number 8 was our smallest keeper so he it didn't help any! Moved from 12th place to 9th after day two and stayed there for day 3 only bringing 4 fish to the scales. We caught a lot of fish just struggled with keepers and not having enough spots to fish that 100 other teams didint find. They were generating power day 3 and that blew out 2 of the 4 docks we liked that others weren't fishing. Clay lost a good one right off the bat on day 3 and I caught a walleye but that said that fish didn't make a difference anyhow. 3 teams from Texas finished in the top 10 and 7 finished in the top 25! Pretty good showing! Congrats to Zeke and John from the Bass Tank with their second place finish! Them cats are crazy! I'm gonna have the baby shark song stuck in my head for 3 months! Also congrats to James Davis and Carl Ellis on 4th place! When I saw he was coming I figured he would sack em up here since Hamilton probably fishes like Granbury! Gained a ton of knowledge this week that will help us going forward! Thanks to Wally Marshall and ACT for taking crappie fishing to the next level!! Slew

Thanks Todd we had a blast, a little disappointed that our fish didn’t bite on day 3 but that’s how it goes sometimes. We’re proud to take 4th place that’s for sure against that field.

That would have been tough fishing. I came up to stay with my dad just a mile or two from the Lake. Hot as Hades on Thursday, storms most of the afternoon on Friday. Saturday was real nice. I was wanting to swing by the convention center and look around, just didn't make it.

I hate I was in the convention center all 3 days and never got to see anything! By the time weight in was over and you had your meeting about the next day all the exhibits were closed! It was cool to see all the people that traveled from all over just to attend the expo! Every night eating we had our jerseys on still cause it was so late people would come talk to us and tell us where they were from. Met people from Mississippi and even had a couple from Tennessee buy our dinner Sat night! Can't wait for next year! They did this whole thing on rock star level!!!

I agree slew I didn’t get so see anything, I did get to eat some of that crappie though! Wally did a great job as well as the american crappie trial crew. I personally can’t wait for another crack at lake Hamilton!
