I love going to the fair. Been dozens of times and have never had any problems. Not sure what you guys are so scared of.

When is the last time you hung around fair park ? It’s pretty rough now when I work over there my helpers job is to watch the truck ....

I have accounts down there that I visit regularly. It's not the best part of town, but it's not the worst either.

I was at the office in Lewisville on a national conference call when I saw the news that Big Tex was on fire.
Everyone in our office kind of started freaking out and there were several loud 'WHAT?'s and 'OH NO's that people in other offices could hear us and they started asking what was going on.
When we told them, they thought it was some kind of a joke.
Our CEO, who was from Dallas, was in our Longbeach CA office on the call and when he heard and he started asking for updates. The rest of the board was WTF?!?!
We just told everyone else it was just a Texas thing.

Somewhere out on the web are recordings of the DFR dispatch call and subsequent radio traffic; kind of funny, kind of tragic.

Ain’t the car wash, where the people got shot in the gunfight just down the street....the one where Dallas PD “doesn’t get paid enough to patrol it”? Or DPD is too short staffed to worry about that area. Kinda like a DMZ. That part of Dallas is a [censored] hole. Period. Sorry for all the nostalgic folks. But, its gone below “down hill”. It’s simply a hole.

Texas/OU should be at Arlington. It’s 100x safer.

So between the two that must mean meth u won the last natty?

Oh Wait.....

The warden and I went 3 years ago for the 1st time in like 12 years.

That last visit reminded us again, why we hadn't been in past decade.

Oh you people and your predetermined prejudices.

Don't park. You take the DART Green line to the Fair Park station and you are right at the entrance gate. And I think if you go online to the State Fair website you can get a combo Fair ticket and DART pass combo at a discount price.
As for crime, during the run of the Fair there is a larger Police presence in and around Fair Park than in any other part of Dallas to make sure everything is OK. .

Well, we would have to take the blue line to the Pearl station, then take the green line and be at the mercy of the train run times. Not worried about crimes on persons, it is legal to carry in the Fairgrounds.

And two times of visiting the Fair does not = predetermined prejudices.

Couple years ago when we went. They had a milk cow and showed how they milk them. It was pretty neat. I asked them if they would take the milking machine thing off and let me do it by hand. They wouldn't.

I've been three times over the years and swore up and down that I'd never go back three times.
