Tropical Storm Imelda had us shut down most of the week. Between storms and loosing power on the entire Bolivar Peninsula, for a few days, we still managed some fish. Using cut mullet we droned out 700-850'. Drop and within 10-15 minutes, it was fish on. We caught 2 to 1 red fish to catfish. Catching mullet was tough as with everyone as local bait stores ran out. Wind had no effect on the drone. Definitely sold on the drone as wading out or kayaking would cost alot of time and energy. Got video edited ( first vid! )

Hey, awesome video. What drone/drone setup did you use to deploy the bait, I want to do something similar on thanksgiving. Also, how far out did you fly the drone out if you wanted to go for shark? Thanks!

Hey, awesome video. What drone/drone setup did you use to deploy the bait, I want to do something similar on thanksgiving. Also, how far out did you fly the drone out if you wanted to go for shark? Thanks! Equipment added to You tube - *Mavic Pro Drone *Velcro cargo strap from Lowes hardware dept. * String tied to downrigger release from Gander Outdoors. I found the bigger release worked best with the heavier weight and bait. Just rock the drone left/then right to release the bait every time. The longer string added safety to the fishing line not getting in the props. I drove the drone out 800 plus feet. Hard to see the bait after that and did not feel real comfortable any further. Worked great and we only caught fish due to having the drone. You will be limited to your reel capacity as far as how far out. That drone can travel thousands of feet. After 900 the bait was hard to see if it was dropping. You could pan down with the camera. I personally did not feel comfortable having the drone out of sight. But it clearly would have with no issue. 1000 plus feet out, at night, with correct bait would be best bet for shark. From what I could tell after 600 foot you were past the main breaks and its just random bottom terrain. I thought this picture showed the sand bar breaks good.
