The Ray Hubbard Bass Cub will be having our eighth members only tournament of 2019, Saturday September 21st on Lake Ray Hubbard. Here is the information - • When: Saturday September 21st • Where: Lake Ray Hubbard - Chandlers Landing Ramp (10.00 launch fee to be paid at registration) • Time: 6:50 AM - 3:00 PM • Registration: 5:30 - 6:30 AM • Entry Fee: $60.00 per boat - 2 person maximumYou MUST be an RHBC member to fish this tournament. We do not accept membership at the launch ramp, so if you want to fish this one, you will have needed to join the Club at our meeting this Thursday night at BPS Garland. Here is a link to the meeting information. Meeting InfoRegistration will be at the ramp starting at 5:30 on Saturday morning. When you register you will be given a numbered chip. You will need to to turn your chip in by placing it on the board to get your fish weighed. You will need to get your live well checked and a ribbon tied on to your trolling motor which must remain there until weigh in. You can then launch or trailer and go to your spot. No lines in the water until 6:50. Lines out at 3:00. There will be a 30 minute dead water period where no fishing is allowed at the end of the day. This is to give members time to get off the water, and the TD's time to get the weigh in set up. The chip must be back on the board on the patio with the Tournament Director by 3:30. Weigh in will start then. If your chip is not on the board at the specified time, a 1 pound per minute penalty will be assessed. After 15 minutes your catch will be marked as 0. You will be called to the scales by boat number. Leave your fish in the live well until your number is called! Keep the water cooled and treated! See you at the ramp!

Great turnout last night! Should be a bunch of us on Hubbard tomorrow. Remember to bring an extra 10 bucks if you are going to launch at Chandlers. See you at the ramp!

Congratulations to Russell Olds and Tony Schnurr on their win yesterday. They weighed a great bag of 21.35 for the win AND had big bass with an 8.29 beast. 36 boats came out to play in the wind. I'll have full results and pictures posted later this week.

Heard on the way home yesterday there was an incident with a capsized kayak. A woman was rescued by a boater, but the man didn't make it. Did one of our guys happen to be the boater rescue?

I'm not sure. I think it was on Ray Hubbard. There were two Parks and Wildlife boats out there after weigh in yesterday. I did not hear any details and it was not my place to ask. The water was really rough yesterday. Prayers to all involved

Just before 11 a.m. Sept. 21, police said a man and woman were in a kayak preparing for a race, before it capsized at Windsurf Bay Park. A person in a nearby boat was able to rescue the woman, however the man — later identified as 46-year-old Michael Amundson — never resurfaced. Neither of the two were wearing life jackets. Around noon, the dive team believed they recovered his body. https://dfw.cbslocal.com/2019/09/21...ay-hubbard-after-couples-kayak-capsized/

Sad, they had PFDs with them in the kayak. One poor decision shaped the future of more than just himself...
