If anyone has some kids that they would like to take "catching" instead of just fishing now is the time on Sam Rayburn. The channel cats are thick and trying to spawn in the rocks along the Hwy. 103 bridge. Just rig a slip cork 4-5 ft. deep and put a worm on the hook. Fished up close to the rocks there should be enough action for even the shortest of attention spans. Went out this morning for a quick limit and everyone that I saw was catching fish. Good luck.

Whitecat,
Thanks for the report. I'm planning to go to Rayburn to catfish this weekend. I'm being kicked out of the house so my girls can have a birthday slumber party. And that's okay with me.

Thanks for the info whitecap. I went to Lufkin a few days ago and I was wondering what all them boats were doing on each side of the highway levies. How is that boat ramp up there just across the bridge on the south side? I went up there last year and it was really shallow there. Thanks again.

Hey Opp
There have definately been plenty of boats around there. I havnt been back in a few days but I hear the drum are starting their run now. You aint got much when you catch them but the big ones do fight good. The ramp on the southside of the bridge is Ewing Park. It's in good shape. Just gotta keep an eye on the wind. It gets pretty rough there with a stiff south breeze. Good luck
